Terms of Service
Table of contents
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern access to FanficForge, available at fanficforge.online, and the use of its features.
FanficForge provides tools for creating, continuing, storing, translating, publishing, and reading stories using artificial intelligence technologies.
By creating an account, using FanficForge, purchasing Chapter Packs, generating content, or publishing a story, the user confirms that they have read these Terms and agree to comply with them.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use FanficForge.
1. About the Service
FanficForge is an independent service for creating and publishing AI-assisted stories and fan fiction.
Using FanficForge, users may, among other things:
-
create original stories;
-
create stories inspired by existing fandoms, works, and fictional universes;
-
define characters, plot ideas, and story requirements;
-
generate and regenerate chapters;
-
create images and other related materials;
-
translate content;
-
store stories in private mode;
-
publish stories for other users;
-
read and save published stories;
-
purchase Chapter Packs to use generation features.
The specific set of FanficForge features may change over time.
2. Age Requirements
Only persons who are at least 16 years old may use FanficForge.
Persons under the age of 16 are prohibited from creating an account or using the Service.
If the law of the user’s country of residence requires the consent of a parent or legal guardian to enter into agreements of this type, use digital services, or make purchases, the user must obtain such consent before using the relevant FanficForge features.
FanficForge may restrict or delete an account if there are reasonable grounds to believe that the user does not meet the age requirements.
3. User Account
Certain FanficForge features require an account.
Registration may be available:
-
using an email address and password;
-
through supported third-party authentication methods, including Google Sign-In.
The user must provide accurate information to the extent required for operation of the Service.
The user is responsible for safeguarding their login credentials and for actions performed through their account, except where such actions occurred due to circumstances under FanficForge’s control.
The user must notify FanficForge at support@fanficforge.online if they believe their account has been compromised or is being used without authorization.
Transfer, sale, or provision of an account to third parties may be restricted or prohibited by FanficForge.
4. Username and Author Name
When an account is created, the user is assigned a username.
FanficForge may also allow the user to set a separate author name, which is used to display authorship of published stories.
The username and author name may be different.
The user may not use an author name, username, or other profile element in a way that:
-
misleads other users about the user’s identity;
-
creates a false impression of an official connection with another person, organization, brand, or FanficForge;
-
infringes third-party rights;
-
is used for fraud, harassment, or other abuse.
FanficForge may require such a name to be changed or may independently restrict its display.
5. User Input and AI Generation
The user may provide FanficForge with ideas, instructions, character descriptions, titles, plot requirements, text, and other materials (“User Input”).
Based on User Input and other context, FanficForge may create text, images, translations, titles, descriptions, plot elements, and other outputs using artificial intelligence (“Generated Output”).
The user understands and agrees that artificial intelligence technologies are probabilistic.
Generated Output may:
-
contain errors or inaccuracies;
-
not fully match the request;
-
contain repetition or plot inconsistencies;
-
resemble output created for another user;
-
include common or typical literary elements;
-
require editing by the user;
-
in some cases contain an undesirable result despite the filtering measures used.
FanficForge does not guarantee the uniqueness of every Generated Output.
Successful creation of an output does not mean that FanficForge confirms its legality, accuracy, or freedom from third-party rights.
6. User Rights in Their Materials
The user retains those rights in their own User Input that they lawfully hold.
FanficForge does not acquire ownership of the user’s original ideas, texts, or other materials solely because they are uploaded to or processed by the Service, except for the licenses expressly provided for in these Terms.
As between the user and FanficForge, FanficForge also does not claim exclusive ownership of Generated Output created for the user, except for rights arising in FanficForge’s own materials and the licenses provided for in these Terms.
At the same time, the user understands that the fact that material was created by artificial intelligence does not guarantee that copyright or another exclusive right arises in that material.
Whether Generated Output is protectable, the scope of such protection, and ownership of rights are determined by applicable law and may vary from country to country.
7. License for Private Stories
While a story has Private status, the user grants FanficForge a limited, non-exclusive license solely to the extent necessary to operate the Service.
This license allows FanficForge and engaged service providers to:
-
store the story;
-
make technical copies of it;
-
process it using AI models;
-
create continuations and new chapters;
-
analyze story context;
-
create summaries and story memory;
-
translate content;
-
create images and other materials requested by the user;
-
display the story to its owner and FanficForge personnel;
-
perform backups and maintain the security and stability of the Service.
Private status does not, by itself, grant FanficForge the right to use the story independently to create commercial films, series, audiobooks, advertising, or other works unrelated to providing Service features to the user.
FanficForge does not use user content to train its own AI models.
8. Story Publication and FanficForge License
By changing a story from Private to Public, the user knowingly makes it available to other users and grants FanficForge the additional rights described in this section.
For content published by the user through FanficForge, the user grants FanficForge a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable, and sublicensable license to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
This license allows FanficForge to use published content in whole or in part, including to:
-
store and reproduce it;
-
publicly display and distribute it;
-
index and organize it in the catalog;
-
format and technically modify it;
-
translate it;
-
create illustrations;
-
use excerpts to promote the story and FanficForge;
-
use it in advertising and marketing materials;
-
create voice recordings;
-
create audio versions and audiobooks;
-
create videos;
-
create trailers and promotional materials;
-
adapt it;
-
edit it;
-
shorten or rework it;
-
create derivative works based on it;
-
create comics, visual works, and interactive formats;
-
develop films, series, animated works, games, and other types of media content based on it;
-
commercially exploit such materials and derivative works;
-
grant the necessary rights to FanficForge contractors, distributors, and partners to carry out the actions listed above.
This license is non-exclusive.
The user retains the right to use their story independently, publish it on other platforms, adapt it, distribute it, or commercialize it within the scope of the rights they lawfully hold.
Unless otherwise separately agreed between FanficForge and the user, granting this license does not create any obligation for FanficForge to pay the user a fee, license payment, royalties, a share of revenue, or other compensation for use of the published content.
FanficForge may, at its discretion, offer the author a separate cooperation, payment, or revenue-sharing agreement, but these Terms do not themselves create such an obligation.
9. Duration of the License for Published Content
The license granted for content after publication remains in effect indefinitely to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
Deletion of the account, discontinuation of use of FanficForge, later removal of a story from the public catalog, or a change in the relationship between the user and FanficForge does not automatically terminate rights already granted to FanficForge in relation to published content.
In particular, FanficForge may continue to use versions or projects already created or initiated under such license, including:
-
audio versions;
-
video materials;
-
advertising materials;
-
translations;
-
adaptations;
-
derivative works;
-
commercial projects.
If applicable law grants the user a non-waivable right to revoke a particular authorization or requires a particular use to cease, such mandatory law takes precedence.
FanficForge may also stop using content at its own initiative.
10. Rights in FanficForge Adaptations
To the maximum extent permitted by law, rights in the independent creative contributions of FanficForge, its contractors, and partners to adaptations, translations, video materials, audio materials, design, editing, illustrations, scripts, and other derivative materials created by them belong to FanficForge or the respective rights holders of such materials.
This provision does not transfer to FanficForge rights in the user’s or third parties’ original elements beyond the license provided for in these Terms.
11. License Limited by the User’s Own Rights
The user may grant FanficForge only those rights that the user has the legal authority to grant.
These Terms do not transfer third-party rights to FanficForge, including rights in:
-
existing literary works;
-
films and television series;
-
games;
-
anime;
-
characters;
-
universes;
-
trademarks;
-
images;
-
music;
-
the identity or personality of real people;
-
other protected subject matter.
If a published story is based on an existing fandom or contains protected third-party elements, the FanficForge license applies only to the scope of rights that the user may lawfully grant.
For example, a user publishing fan fiction based on an existing franchise does not mean that either the user or FanficForge acquires rights in the franchise itself, its characters, title, or other elements owned by third parties.
12. Fan Fiction, Fandoms, and Third-Party Intellectual Property
FanficForge allows users to create both fully original stories and stories inspired by existing works, characters, fandoms, and fictional worlds.
FanficForge is an independent service.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, FanficForge:
-
is not an official representative of the relevant fandom;
-
is not affiliated with authors, publishers, studios, or developers;
-
is not an official partner of franchise owners;
-
does not automatically receive licenses to such franchises;
-
does not claim endorsement or approval from the relevant rights holders.
Mention of a work, character, brand, or fandom on FanficForge does not imply an official collaboration.
The user is responsible for ensuring that their use, and especially public distribution, of protected third-party materials complies with applicable law.
FanficForge may restrict access to or remove such content, including following a complaint from a rights holder.
13. Stories About Real People
Fictional content about adult public figures may be permitted subject to these Terms and the Acceptable Use Policy.
However, FanficForge must not be used for:
-
presenting fictional content as true facts for the purpose of deception or harm;
-
fraudulent impersonation;
-
stalking or harassment;
-
publishing unlawfully obtained private information;
-
doxing;
-
threats;
-
sexually explicit content;
-
other violations of privacy, image rights, name rights, or other rights of real people.
Creating or publishing a story about an identifiable private individual without that person’s consent may be restricted or prohibited by FanficForge.
FanficForge may apply stricter rules to images and other realistic content imitating the appearance of a real person.
The fact that a user publishes a story about a real person does not grant FanficForge any independent right to commercially use that person’s name, image, voice, or identity beyond the rights lawfully held by the user.
14. Acceptable Use
Use of FanficForge is governed by a separate Acceptable Use Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
The user must comply with it when:
-
creating a prompt;
-
generating a story;
-
generating or regenerating a chapter;
-
creating images;
-
publishing a story;
-
using any other Service feature.
In particular, FanficForge does not permit the generation or publication of explicit sexual content regardless of the selected story rating.
Individual age ratings may impose additional restrictions on violence, romantic content, and other themes.
The complete set of restrictions is defined by the current Acceptable Use Policy.
15. Public and Private Stories
The user may create stories with Private status.
Where provided by the interface, the user may change such a story to Public status.
After publication, the user may not have the technical ability to return a story from Public to Private on their own.
The user understands this before publication and takes into account that a published story becomes publicly accessible.
The user may contact support@fanficforge.online to request deletion of a specific story.
Such a request will be reviewed taking into account these Terms, the rights of other persons, existing licenses, and applicable legal requirements.
16. Content Moderation
FanficForge may moderate user content and independently take action in relation to stories, chapters, images, prompts, profiles, and accounts.
FanficForge may, in particular:
-
block generation;
-
refuse publication;
-
change a public story to private status;
-
unpublish a story;
-
restrict its distribution;
-
remove an individual chapter or other material;
-
delete a story;
-
restrict specific account features;
-
temporarily suspend an account;
-
permanently terminate the user’s access to the Service.
Such measures may be applied, in particular, where necessary to:
-
enforce these Terms;
-
enforce the Acceptable Use Policy;
-
protect users;
-
comply with legal requirements;
-
comply with lawful requests from government authorities;
-
address rights-holder complaints;
-
protect intellectual property;
-
comply with reasonable requirements of infrastructure, AI, or payment providers;
-
prevent fraud or abuse;
-
maintain the security or stability of FanficForge;
-
protect FanficForge from legal or technical risks.
FanficForge may take action without prior notice to the user where prior notice is impossible, impractical, or not required by applicable law.
FanficForge is not required to disclose internal moderation systems, safety criteria, methods used to detect violations, or details whose disclosure could enable circumvention of safeguards.
17. Content Complaints
If a user or third party believes that FanficForge content:
-
infringes copyright or other rights;
-
unlawfully uses personal data;
-
violates the rights of a real person;
-
violates these Terms;
-
violates the Acceptable Use Policy;
a complaint may be sent to:
FanficForge may request additional information to review the complaint.
Intellectual property complaints are also governed by the separate Copyright and Content Complaints Policy.
18. Chapter Credits and Chapter Packs
Certain generation features may require Chapter Credits.
Chapter Credits may be:
-
purchased by the user as part of a Chapter Pack;
-
provided by FanficForge free of charge or as part of a bonus, promotion, or other offer.
Paid and free Chapter Credits may provide the same functional access, but they have different status for refund purposes.
Free Chapter Credits:
-
have no monetary value;
-
cannot be exchanged for money;
-
are non-refundable;
-
do not create a monetary obligation of FanficForge to the user.
Unless otherwise expressly stated at the time of purchase, purchased Chapter Credits do not expire and may be used until consumed or until the relevant feature or Service is discontinued, subject to any mandatory rights the user may have under applicable law.
19. Deduction of Chapter Credits
A Chapter Credit is deducted only after successful completion of a paid generation operation in accordance with the Service’s current logic.
Merely starting a generation does not by itself result in deduction of a Chapter Credit.
If generation ends with a technical error before a result is successfully created and saved, the Chapter Credit for that operation is not deducted.
In particular, a Credit is generally not deducted if:
-
the AI provider does not respond;
-
a timeout occurs;
-
an empty or technically invalid result is returned;
-
the process ends with a system error before the chapter is successfully saved.
After a chapter is successfully created and saved, the corresponding Chapter Credit is considered used.
Subjective dissatisfaction with a generation result does not by itself mean that the operation was technically unsuccessful and is not an automatic basis for refunding a Chapter Credit.
A successful chapter regeneration (regenerate) may be treated as a separate operation and may require an additional Chapter Credit.
FanficForge may change pricing rules for individual features. The current cost of an operation must be displayed to the user before it is performed or otherwise communicated clearly in the interface.
20. Purchase of Chapter Packs
The current price, currency, number of Chapter Credits, and other terms of a particular Chapter Pack are displayed to the user before purchase.
FanficForge may:
-
change prices;
-
change the composition of packs;
-
add new packs;
-
discontinue existing packs;
-
run promotions and provide bonus Credits.
Such changes do not reduce the user’s already credited paid balance, unless required by law or related to correcting an error, fraud, a payment refund, or a chargeback.
21. Payments
Payments are processed by third-party payment providers.
FanficForge may use, among others:
-
Lava.top;
-
CryptoCloud;
-
other available payment services.
Available payment methods may depend on the user’s country, currency, purchase amount, and the rules of the relevant payment provider.
The user may also be required to comply with the terms of the selected payment provider.
FanficForge does not store full payment card numbers or CVV/CVC codes.
22. Refunds
Refund terms are governed by the separate FanficForge Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
As a general rule, a completely unused Chapter Pack may be refunded within 14 days after purchase.
If at least one paid Chapter Credit from the relevant purchase has been used for a successful generation, a voluntary full refund of that purchase is generally not provided.
Free Chapter Credits are not refundable and cannot be exchanged for money.
Duplicate payments made in error and confirmed technical payment issues are handled separately.
Nothing in these Terms or the Refund Policy limits mandatory consumer rights that cannot be excluded or restricted by agreement.
23. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes
If the user initiates a chargeback, payment reversal, or another payment dispute, FanficForge may temporarily restrict use of the Chapter Credits obtained through the relevant purchase while the dispute is being reviewed.
If the payment is reversed, the corresponding Credits may be deducted from the user’s balance.
FanficForge may also restrict an account where there are reasonable indications of fraudulent payment use, systematic abuse of the chargeback process, or other payment-related abuse.
This does not restrict the user’s right to dispute in good faith a genuinely unauthorized or erroneous payment.
24. Account Deletion
At present, the user may not have the ability to delete an account independently through the interface.
An account deletion request may be sent to:
FanficForge may request reasonable verification of account ownership.
Account deletion does not necessarily result in automatic deletion of all previously published stories.
If the user does not separately request deletion of public content, FanficForge may anonymize the account and display published stories, for example, under the name “Deleted User”.
The user may separately request deletion of a specific published story.
Deletion of an account or story does not automatically terminate licenses lawfully granted to FanficForge before such deletion, in accordance with Sections 8–10 of these Terms.
Processing of personal data in connection with account deletion is additionally governed by the Privacy Policy.
25. Termination of Access by FanficForge
FanficForge may temporarily or permanently restrict the user’s access to the Service in cases of material or repeated violations of these Terms, safety rules, the Acceptable Use Policy, legal requirements, or third-party rights.
In serious cases, access may be terminated without prior warning.
If an account is terminated, the treatment of unused paid Chapter Credits is determined taking into account the reason for termination, the Refund Policy, and mandatory requirements of applicable law.
26. FanficForge Intellectual Property
Except for User Content and third-party materials, FanficForge software, source code, interfaces, design, Service structure, logos, brand elements, databases, proprietary documentation, and other FanficForge materials belong to the owner of FanficForge or are lawfully used by it.
Use of the Service does not transfer ownership of these materials to the user.
Without permission, the user may not:
-
copy FanficForge software;
-
circumvent technical restrictions;
-
attempt to obtain unauthorized access to internal systems;
-
use the FanficForge brand in a way that creates a false impression of partnership or endorsement;
-
scrape or extract data at scale in a way that disrupts the Service;
-
use the Service for attacks, malicious automation, or other abuse.
27. Third-Party Services
FanficForge depends on third-party technologies and providers, including AI providers, payment systems, authentication systems, analytics services, and infrastructure solutions.
Such services may have their own terms of use, restrictions, and policies.
FanficForge does not guarantee the continued availability of any particular third-party provider or specific AI model.
FanficForge may replace the models, providers, and infrastructure solutions it uses without prior agreement with the user, provided this does not reduce mandatory rights already acquired by the user.
28. Changes to or Discontinuation of Features
FanficForge evolves and may change over time.
FanficForge may:
-
add new features;
-
modify existing features;
-
change the interface;
-
change the AI models used;
-
change providers;
-
change prices and packages for future purchases;
-
temporarily suspend individual features;
-
perform maintenance;
-
discontinue support for individual features.
If a change materially affects access already paid for by the user, FanficForge will take reasonable measures in light of applicable law and the Refund Policy.
29. Service Availability
FanficForge aims to provide stable operation of the Service but does not guarantee continuous, error-free, or 24/7 availability.
The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to:
-
maintenance;
-
updates;
-
errors;
-
network problems;
-
failures of third-party providers;
-
attacks;
-
force majeure events;
-
other circumstances outside FanficForge’s reasonable control.
30. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, FanficForge is provided “as is” and “as available.”
FanficForge does not guarantee that:
-
AI will always create the result expected by the user;
-
a story will be of literary quality;
-
an output will be fully unique;
-
an output will be free of errors;
-
an output will be suitable for a particular commercial purpose;
-
the user will acquire copyright in AI-generated material;
-
publication of content will be lawful in every jurisdiction;
-
the Service will be continuously available;
-
any particular AI provider or model will remain continuously available.
Mandatory warranties and consumer rights that cannot be excluded by law remain unaffected.
31. User Responsibility
The user is responsible for User Input provided to FanficForge and for decisions regarding publication and further use of generated content.
The user must respect third-party rights and must not knowingly use the Service to unlawfully infringe such rights.
If the user publishes material, the user confirms that, to the extent permitted by applicable law, they are entitled to grant FanficForge the license described in these Terms with respect to their own creative contribution.
If use of material requires permission from a third party, obtaining such permission remains the user’s responsibility.
32. Limitation of FanficForge Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, FanficForge is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, lost profits, loss of data, or other indirect losses arising from use of or inability to use the Service.
If FanficForge’s liability cannot be fully excluded, FanficForge’s aggregate liability related to use of the Service is, to the maximum extent permitted by law, limited to the amount actually paid by the user to FanficForge during the twelve months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
This limitation does not apply to liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
33. Protection of FanficForge Rights
If the user’s actions, knowingly or as a result of a material breach of these Terms, give rise to third-party claims, legal expenses, or other documented losses of FanficForge, the user may be responsible for such consequences to the extent permitted by applicable law.
This provision does not limit mandatory consumer rights.
34. Privacy Policy
Processing of personal data is governed by the separate FanficForge Privacy Policy.
It describes, among other things:
-
account data;
-
Google Sign-In;
-
AI providers;
-
analytics;
-
cookies;
-
payments;
-
account deletion;
-
user rights regarding personal data.
The Privacy Policy forms an integral part of the rules governing use of FanficForge.
35. Related Policies
The following policies apply together with these Terms:
Privacy Policy — rules governing processing of personal data;
Acceptable Use Policy — rules governing permitted and prohibited content;
Refund Policy — rules governing refunds for Chapter Packs;
Copyright and Content Complaints Policy — procedure for submitting claims concerning published materials.
If these Terms conflict with a specific policy, the provisions of the specific policy apply to the matter it directly regulates, unless otherwise expressly provided in these Terms or by mandatory law.
36. Changes to These Terms
FanficForge may update these Terms due to:
-
changes in functionality;
-
introduction of new products;
-
changes in providers used;
-
changes in law;
-
requirements of payment or infrastructure partners;
-
the need to address abuse;
-
other reasonable changes to operation of the Service.
The current version will be published on FanficForge together with the date of the latest update.
If changes are material, FanficForge may provide additional notice through the website, the user’s account, or another reasonable method.
Where applicable law requires separate user consent to material changes, FanficForge will obtain such consent before applying the relevant provisions.
37. Transfer of the Service
FanficForge may in the future transfer the Service, related assets, rights, and contractual relationships to another owner or operator in connection with a sale of the project, reorganization, investment transaction, or other business transfer.
In such a case, FanficForge’s rights and obligations under these Terms may be transferred to the new operator to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
The user license for published content may be transferred together with FanficForge or the relevant media project within the scope provided by these Terms.
38. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect to the maximum extent permitted.
The invalid provision will apply to the extent permitted by law and in the manner that most closely reflects its original purpose.
39. No Waiver
If FanficForge does not enforce a provision of these Terms in a particular case, this does not mean that FanficForge waives the right to enforce it in the future.
40. Applicable Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms apply subject to the law governing the relevant relationship between FanficForge and the user.
Nothing in these Terms deprives the user of mandatory consumer rights or other rights that cannot be excluded by agreement.
Before bringing a claim before a court or other competent authority, the user is encouraged to first contact FanficForge at:
so that the parties may attempt to resolve the dispute directly.
This does not limit the user’s right to apply to a competent court, government authority, consumer protection body, or other authority in cases provided for by applicable law.
