Acceptable Use Policy
Table of contents
This Acceptable Use Policy (“Policy”) defines what content may and may not be created, processed, published, or distributed using FanficForge, available at fanficforge.online.
This Policy forms part of the FanficForge Terms of Service and applies to all features of the Service, including:
-
user prompts and instructions;
-
story creation and continuation;
-
chapter generation and regeneration;
-
image generation;
-
translations;
-
story titles and descriptions;
-
character names and descriptions;
-
public stories;
-
comments, feedback forms, and other user-submitted materials, where such features are available.
Users must comply with this Policy regardless of whether a story is public or private.
1. General Principle
FanficForge is intended for creating fictional stories.
The Service allows a broad range of genres and themes, including romance, drama, adventure, fantasy, science fiction, psychological stories, tragic events, conflict, and dark themes, provided that such content complies with the selected rating and this Policy.
The fictional depiction of a difficult, unpleasant, or dangerous subject is not necessarily a violation by itself.
For example, a story may depict:
-
crime;
-
war;
-
death;
-
psychological trauma;
-
addiction;
-
discrimination;
-
violence;
-
self-harm;
-
toxic relationships;
provided that the work does not turn into prohibited instructions, propaganda, exploitation, harassment, or other prohibited content.
FanficForge may consider the context, purpose, level of detail, and nature of a work when assessing whether content is permitted.
2. Age Ratings
When creating a story, users may select from the available ratings.
A rating determines the permitted intensity of certain themes, but does not override the absolute prohibitions established by this Policy.
2.1. all_ages
Content intended for a broad audience.
Examples of permitted content include:
-
adventure;
-
friendship;
-
family themes;
-
light romance;
-
moderate tension;
-
fantasy conflicts;
-
non-intensive and non-graphic violence.
The following are not permitted:
-
sexual content;
-
graphic violence;
-
detailed descriptions of severe injuries;
-
excessively frightening or shocking content;
-
other themes that are clearly inappropriate for an all-ages audience.
2.2. teen
More complex themes may be permitted, including:
-
romantic tension;
-
relationships between characters;
-
moderate conflict;
-
moderate non-graphic violence;
-
emotionally complex situations;
-
certain dark themes presented in a moderate form.
The following are not permitted:
-
explicit sexual scenes;
-
graphic sexual descriptions;
-
excessively graphic violence;
-
detailed gore;
-
content clearly inappropriate for a teen rating.
2.3. mature_themes
This rating may be used for serious adult themes, such as:
-
psychological trauma;
-
severe loss;
-
moral conflicts;
-
addiction;
-
toxic or destructive relationships;
-
crime;
-
difficult life circumstances;
-
psychological pressure.
The mature_themes rating does not permit explicit sexual content.
Serious themes must remain fictional content and must not become instructions for causing real-world harm.
2.4. dark_violence_allowed
This rating permits darker storylines and more intense violence.
Permitted content may include:
-
deadly conflicts;
-
combat scenes;
-
killings within a fictional story;
-
dark fantasy;
-
horror;
-
psychological abuse;
-
criminal or dystopian storylines.
However, FanficForge may restrict excessively graphic or gratuitous depictions of torture, dismemberment, internal organs, severe injuries, or other excessive gore.
The dark_violence_allowed rating also does not permit explicit sexual content and does not override any other prohibition in this Policy.
3. Explicit Sexual Content
Explicit sexual content is prohibited on FanficForge at every rating.
This prohibition applies to prompts, generation, regeneration, and public publication.
In particular, the following are prohibited:
-
detailed descriptions of sexual acts;
-
graphic descriptions of sexual activity;
-
content whose primary purpose is sexual arousal through detailed descriptions of sexual activity;
-
pornographic scenarios;
-
explicitly sexualized images.
Depending on the rating and context, the following may be permitted:
-
romantic relationships;
-
kissing;
-
romantic tension;
-
emotional intimacy;
-
implied intimacy;
-
a fade-to-black approach, where an intimate event is implied but not described in detail.
FanficForge may block requests that formally avoid certain words but are, in substance, intended to generate explicit sexual content.
4. Minors
Any content that sexualizes or sexually exploits a minor, or a person presented as a minor, is prohibited.
In particular, the following are prohibited:
-
sexual acts involving minors;
-
sexualized descriptions of a minor’s body;
-
eroticization of minor characters;
-
sexual exploitation;
-
grooming in a sexual context;
-
creation of sexualized images of minors;
-
attempts to circumvent this prohibition through fictional context, fantasy species, changes to a character’s stated age, or other technical wording where a child character is clearly being sexualized.
This prohibition applies regardless of whether:
-
the character is real or fictional;
-
the character is based on an existing franchise;
-
the story is public or private;
-
any particular rating has been selected.
The mere presence of children or teenagers as characters in a story is not prohibited.
Ordinary family, school, adventure, dramatic, and age-appropriate romantic storylines are permitted, provided that they do not sexualize minors.
5. Sexual Violence and Lack of Consent
Because explicit sexual content is prohibited in general, FanficForge also prohibits the creation of detailed sexualized content involving:
-
rape;
-
sexual coercion;
-
sexual violence;
-
exploitation;
-
non-consensual sexual acts;
-
a person who is helpless or unable to consent.
Sexual violence may be referenced in a serious fictional context as part of a character’s background, trauma, investigation, or plot, provided that it is not depicted graphically and is not used to eroticize violence.
6. Violence
Fictional violence is not prohibited by itself.
The permitted level depends on the story’s rating.
However, FanficForge may restrict content that:
-
dwells excessively on severe injuries in graphic detail;
-
contains gratuitous graphic torture;
-
is primarily intended to create shocking gore;
-
depicts real-world harm for the purpose of intimidating a specific person;
-
contains real threats.
Fantasy battles, detective-story murders, war stories, horror, and other fictional forms of violence may be permitted under an appropriate rating.
7. Self-Harm and Suicide
FanficForge permits responsible fictional depictions of self-harm, suicidal thoughts, psychological crises, loss, and recovery.
Content is prohibited if it:
-
actively encourages a person to harm themselves;
-
romanticizes or promotes suicide as a desirable outcome;
-
provides practical instructions for effectively carrying out suicide or severe self-harm;
-
encourages a specific real person to harm themselves;
-
is used to harass or pressure a person into self-harm.
The presence of such themes in a fictional work does not by itself constitute a violation.
8. Hate and Discrimination
FanficForge does not permit use of the Service to deliberately promote hatred or dehumanization of people based on protected characteristics.
In particular, the following are prohibited:
-
calls for violence against a group of people;
-
claims that a group should be destroyed or persecuted;
-
dehumanizing content created for the purpose of inciting hatred;
-
advocacy of discriminatory violence.
A fictional work may, however, contain:
-
villainous characters with racist or otherwise discriminatory views;
-
depictions of historical discrimination;
-
social criticism;
-
conflicts involving prejudice;
-
quotations from or descriptions of hateful ideology in a narrative context.
FanficForge considers not only the presence of controversial words, but also the context of the work.
9. Harassment, Stalking, and Threats
FanficForge must not be used for:
-
targeted harassment of a real person;
-
threats of real-world harm;
-
coordination of stalking or harassment;
-
humiliation of a specific private individual with the intent to harm them;
-
blackmail;
-
publication of humiliating materials as a means of harassment;
-
creation of content intended for systematic harassment.
Conflict, insults, and cruel behavior between fictional characters in a fictional work are not prohibited by themselves.
10. Real People
Fictional stories about adult public figures may be permitted.
This may include works about:
-
actors;
-
musicians;
-
athletes;
-
bloggers;
-
public figures;
-
other widely known adults.
However, FanficForge must not be used for:
-
explicit sexual depictions of a real person;
-
creating or distributing Non-Consensual Intimate Imagery (NCII), including AI-generated sexual deepfakes;
-
presenting a fictional story as confirmed fact with the intent to deceive or cause harm;
-
fraudulent impersonation;
-
creating deceptive materials intended to convince others that a real person actually committed fictional acts;
-
harassment;
-
threats;
-
doxing;
-
publication of unlawfully obtained private information;
-
blackmail;
-
other serious violations of privacy or personality rights.
FanficForge may apply stricter restrictions to realistic images, voice, or other materials that imitate the appearance or identity of a real person.
Private Individuals
Stories about identifiable private individuals who are not public figures may be restricted.
Users should not create or publish stories about a specific private individual without that person’s consent if the content:
-
uses their real personal data;
-
concerns their intimate or sensitive private life;
-
could reasonably be perceived as harassment or stalking;
-
creates a serious risk of harm to that person.
FanficForge may remove such content following a complaint from the affected person or on its own initiative.
11. Non-Consensual Intimate Imagery (NCII)
FanficForge strictly prohibits the creation, modification, generation, publication, or distribution of Non-Consensual Intimate Imagery (NCII) — intimate or sexualized images, videos, or other visual media depicting a real person without that person’s consent.
This prohibition includes, in particular:
-
AI-generated intimate imagery;
-
sexual deepfake images or videos;
-
using a photograph, image, likeness, or other recognizable characteristics of a real person to create false intimate or sexualized material;
-
modifying an existing image of a real person so that it depicts nudity, an intimate situation, or a sexual situation that did not actually occur;
-
creating materials that state or create the false impression that a real person participated in intimate or sexual activity.
This prohibition applies regardless of whether:
-
the person is a public figure or a private individual;
-
the created material is realistic or stylized;
-
the story or material is public or private;
-
any particular age rating has been selected;
-
the material is intended for publication or only for personal use.
Using fictional wording, changing a person’s name, stylizing an image, or otherwise attempting to obscure identity does not make such content permissible where the material clearly depicts or imitates an identifiable real person.
FanficForge also prohibits the use of data obtained through Google Sign-In or other Google APIs to create, modify, or distribute NCII or other sexualized content involving real people.
Attempts to use FanficForge to create NCII may result in the relevant request being blocked, material being removed, features being restricted, or the user’s access being suspended or terminated.
12. Personal and Confidential Information
It is prohibited to publish or use the following with the intent to cause harm:
-
home addresses;
-
personal phone numbers;
-
passwords;
-
access keys;
-
payment card information;
-
identity documents;
-
confidential medical or financial information of third parties;
-
the precise location of a private individual;
-
other non-public personal information whose disclosure could create a substantial risk to a person.
Do not use FanficForge for doxing or to find ways to obtain such information.
13. Illegal Activity and Real-World Harm
Fictional works may contain crimes and criminal characters.
However, FanficForge must not be used as a practical guide for causing serious real-world harm.
In particular, FanficForge may block requests seeking practically actionable instructions for:
-
committing violent crimes;
-
creating or using dangerous devices to cause harm;
-
bypassing security systems for criminal purposes;
-
kidnapping;
-
concealing a serious crime;
-
poisoning;
-
other activities that create an immediate risk of serious harm.
A crime story, detective story, thriller, or description of a fictional crime is not prohibited by itself.
14. Weapons
Weapons may appear in fictional works.
Permitted examples include:
-
combat scenes;
-
historical works;
-
military fiction;
-
detective stories;
-
fantasy weapons.
However, the Service must not be used primarily to obtain detailed practical instructions specifically intended for creating or using weapons to cause real-world harm.
15. Terrorism and Extremist Violence
Fictional, historical, critical, or educational depictions of terrorist and extremist organizations are permitted.
FanficForge must not be used for:
-
recruitment;
-
propaganda promoting terrorist violence;
-
glorification of real terrorist attacks for the purpose of encouraging repetition;
-
planning or coordinating a real attack;
-
practical instructions for carrying out terrorist acts;
-
creating materials intended to support a real terrorist organization.
16. Drugs and Other Dangerous Substances
Fictional stories may contain:
-
alcohol use;
-
drugs;
-
addiction;
-
trafficking in illegal substances;
-
related crimes and consequences.
This is not a violation by itself.
However, FanficForge may block practically actionable instructions for manufacturing or preparing particularly dangerous illegal substances, or other instructions intended to cause serious real-world harm.
17. Fraud, Deception, and Abuse
FanficForge must not be used for:
-
phishing;
-
fraudulent messages;
-
extortion;
-
social engineering intended to steal data or money;
-
impersonation for fraudulent purposes;
-
creating materials intended to deceive a specific person;
-
distributing malicious links;
-
spam;
-
other schemes intended to unlawfully obtain money, access, or personal data.
A fictional depiction of fraud within a story is not prohibited by itself.
18. Malware and Attacks
FanficForge is not intended for developing or distributing malicious tools.
The Service must not be used for:
-
creating malware;
-
stealing credentials;
-
bypassing authorization systems;
-
exploiting vulnerabilities for unauthorized access;
-
attacking services or users;
-
distributing malicious code.
19. Intellectual Property and Fan Fiction
FanficForge specifically supports the creation of fan fiction and stories inspired by existing works and fandoms.
Accordingly, simply mentioning:
-
a book;
-
a film;
-
a television series;
-
a game;
-
an anime;
-
a character;
-
a fictional universe;
-
a fandom;
-
a brand;
does not automatically violate this Policy.
However, users must not use FanficForge to:
-
present their content as an official work of the rights holder;
-
create a false impression of official partnership or endorsement;
-
distribute unlawful copies of works;
-
upload and publish substantial portions of another person’s work as their own text;
-
intentionally misappropriate another person’s copyrighted work;
-
commit other clear infringements of third-party rights.
Whether a particular use of a third-party work is lawful may depend on the laws of the relevant jurisdiction.
FanficForge does not confirm or guarantee the legality of every user-created fan fiction work.
Complaints from rights holders are handled in accordance with the Copyright and Content Complaints Policy.
20. Impersonation of FanficForge and Third Parties
Users must not create a profile, author name, story, or other material in a way that intentionally creates the false impression that the user is:
-
FanficForge;
-
a FanficForge employee;
-
the rights holder of a particular franchise;
-
an official representative of a brand;
-
a specific real person;
unless the user actually has that status.
Parody and clearly fictional use may be assessed in context.
21. Spam and Manipulation of the Service
The following are prohibited:
-
mass creation of substantially similar public content for spam purposes;
-
using stories primarily to display advertisements or malicious links;
-
artificially manipulating views, ratings, or other metrics;
-
creating large numbers of accounts to circumvent restrictions;
-
abusing free Chapter Credits;
-
using automation in a way that creates an excessive load on the Service;
-
bypassing payment or technical restrictions.
22. Circumvention of Safeguards
Users must not intentionally bypass or attempt to bypass:
-
content filters;
-
age ratings;
-
AI provider restrictions;
-
generation limits;
-
payment restrictions;
-
safety mechanisms;
-
account restrictions;
-
moderation measures.
Rephrasing a prohibited request through euphemisms, code, translation, role-play instructions, or a sequence of separate requests does not make the request permitted.
FanficForge uses third-party AI models that may also have their own usage restrictions. Availability of a particular type of content is not guaranteed even if it is not expressly prohibited by this Policy.
23. Difference Between Generation and Public Publication
Content that may be permitted in a private fictional story is not necessarily permitted for publication in the public FanficForge catalog.
For public content, FanficForge may apply stricter requirements taking into account:
-
the safety of other users;
-
the age rating;
-
legal requirements;
-
search engine requirements;
-
requirements of AI, infrastructure, and payment providers;
-
reputational risks;
-
third-party complaints;
-
the overall suitability of the material for the public catalog.
FanficForge may refuse publication or change a story’s status to Private, even if the generation of individual elements of that story was not previously blocked.
24. Requirements for Public Stories
A user publishing a story must select a rating that reasonably corresponds to the content.
Users must not intentionally select a lower rating to conceal the nature of a work or circumvent restrictions.
FanficForge may:
-
change the rating;
-
change or remove individual tags;
-
restrict visibility;
-
change a story’s status to Private;
-
unpublish the story;
-
delete the story;
if the selected rating or presentation of the story does not match its actual content.
Public titles, descriptions, preview images, and other elements visible before opening a story must also comply with this Policy.
25. Content Not Prohibited by Itself
To avoid overly broad interpretation of this Policy, the mere presence of the following themes does not constitute a violation:
-
death;
-
crime;
-
murder as a plot element;
-
war;
-
weapons;
-
addiction;
-
psychological disorders;
-
toxic relationships;
-
villains;
-
discrimination as a plot theme;
-
self-harm as part of serious storytelling;
-
suicide as a theme of the work;
-
religion;
-
politics;
-
historical conflicts;
-
controversial moral ideas.
Whether such content is permitted depends on the context, rating, level of detail, and whether the work becomes a prohibited instruction, propaganda, threat, exploitation, or harassment.
26. Automated Content Review
FanficForge may use automated systems, including AI, to review:
-
prompts;
-
user input;
-
generation outputs;
-
public stories;
-
images;
-
other materials.
Such systems may:
-
reject a request before generation;
-
stop generation;
-
require the request to be modified;
-
restrict the result;
-
refer the material for additional review.
Automated systems may make mistakes.
The fact that particular material was technically generated or published does not mean that FanficForge has determined that it complies with this Policy.
27. Measures for Violations
In the event of a suspected or confirmed violation, FanficForge may:
-
reject a request;
-
block a specific generation;
-
restrict access to a particular feature;
-
change a story’s status from Public to Private;
-
unpublish a story;
-
remove individual material;
-
delete a story;
-
restrict generation;
-
temporarily suspend an account;
-
permanently terminate a user’s access;
-
restrict the creation of new accounts;
-
retain necessary information about the violation to prevent repeated abuse;
-
take other reasonable measures to protect users and the Service.
The measure taken may depend on:
-
the severity of the violation;
-
whether it is repeated;
-
whether it was intentional;
-
the potential harm;
-
previous violations;
-
legal requirements or requirements of third-party providers.
FanficForge is not required to apply a less severe measure first.
In cases of serious violations, an account or content may be restricted without prior warning.
28. Illegal Content and Government Requests
If FanficForge receives a valid, binding request from a competent government authority, or is otherwise legally required to restrict or disclose certain content, FanficForge may comply with that request to the extent permitted by applicable law.
FanficForge may also take action if it reasonably believes that content creates an immediate and serious threat to the safety of a user or third parties.
29. Third-Party Provider Policies
FanficForge uses third-party providers, including AI providers.
Individual models and providers may impose additional acceptable-use restrictions.
As a result, a particular request may be unavailable or blocked even when the relevant category is not expressly prohibited by this Policy.
Users may not require FanficForge to bypass the restrictions of a third-party AI provider.
FanficForge may change AI models and request routing, including for safety purposes and to comply with applicable rules.
30. Content Complaints
If you believe that public material on FanficForge violates this Policy, a person’s rights, or applicable law, you may contact:
Where possible, the complaint should include:
-
a link to the relevant story or material;
-
a brief description of the issue;
-
any other information that may help identify the violation.
Intellectual property complaints are also handled in accordance with the Copyright and Content Complaints Policy.
31. Changes to This Policy
FanficForge may update this Policy as the Service evolves, new features are introduced, AI models change, methods of abuse develop, laws change, or provider requirements are updated.
The current version will be published on the FanficForge website with the date of the latest update.
Material changes may require additional notice or renewed acceptance of the relevant terms where required.
